‘Ajay Devgn Ne Mana Kiya Kya?’: Anil Kapoor Jokes About Not Being Cast In Dhamaal 4 | Video
Dhamaal 4, the fourth instalment of the popular comedy franchise, is all set to release in theatres on July 3. The film retains the core cast, including Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Mishra and Jaaved Jaaferi. However, Anil Kapoor, who was a part of Total Dhamaal (2019), has not been cast in Dhamaal 4. At the recent trailer launch of his upcoming film Subedaar, Anil Kapoor joked about being left out of Dhamaal 4, and playfully asked whether Ajay Devgn had asked the director, Indra Kumar, not to cast him. In the video, it is evident that he is speaking in jest, mimicking his usual banter with directors.

At the trailer launch of Subedaar, Anil Kapoor shared that he shares a friendly rapport with every director he has ever worked with over the years. “I have had a wonderful relationship with all my filmmakers. Kal meri N. Chandra se baat hui. Aisa koi filmmaker nahi hai jiske saath maine kaam kiya hai aaj tak jo mera dost nahi hai. Sab ke sab. Chahe Subhash ji ho, N Chandra ho, Vinod Chopra ho. (Just yesterday I spoke to N. Chandra. There isn’t a single filmmaker I’ve worked with who isn’t my friend — whether it’s Subhash ji, N. Chandra, or Vinod Chopra)."

Anil Kapoor then mimicked how he casually chats with directors, asking them what’s going on, and suggesting they do a film together. He also mimicked speaking to Indra Kumar, and jokingly asked whether Ajay Devgn had asked the director not to cast him in Dhamaal 4. “Aye Indu! Kya ho gaya hai? Teri Dhamaal 4. Liya nahi mujhe picture mein? Chalo theek hai koi baat nahi, Ajay ne mana kiya kya? (Hey Indu! What happened? Your film Dhamaal 4— you didn’t take me in the film? It’s okay, no problem. Did Ajay refuse?)," joked Anil. Everyone burst into laughter as he concluded, “Toh apna ye chalta rehta hai. (This is how it goes with us)."
