The Bachchans are drawing a line against AI misuse. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have filed a Rs 4 crore lawsuit against Google and YouTube, accusing the platforms of allowing their images and videos to be misused in deepfakes and unauthorised AI content.
This legal move places the star couple alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff, who have already secured protection of their personality rights against similar misuse.
A Reuters report revealed details from the filing, with the actors raising red flags about YouTube's policies. “The actors argue that YouTube's content and third-party training policies are concerning," it said.
The filing explained how such content spreads unchecked. “Such content being used to train AI models has the potential to multiply the instances of use of any infringing content, i.e. first being uploaded on YouTube, being viewed by the public, and then also being used to train," the couple's submission noted.
The complaint also warned about bias built into artificial intelligence. The filings added, “AI platforms are trained on biased content that portrays them in a negative manner and infringes their intellectual property rights, then AI models ‘are likely to learn all such untrue' information, leading to its further spread."

On the work front, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2, where her performance as Nandini earned praise. Abhishek Bachchan was seen in I Want to Talk, a 2024 drama by Shoojit Sircar based on the true story of a man battling cancer while trying to rebuild his relationship with his daughter.
