Apple will have been planning this succession for a long time. Rumours were circulating for a while that 65-year-old Tim Cook was thinking about stepping down, and while a few potential replacements popped up, the name which stuck was the firm's vice president of hardware, 51-year-old John Ternus
Apple has announced a major leadership change. On April 20, the company named John Ternus as its next CEO, with Tim Cook set to move into the role of executive chairman from September 1. This marks a big shift, as a long-time insider prepares to take charge during an important phase for the company

Airlines Issue Advisory As Fog Hits Flight Ops In Delhi; Visibility Drops To 100M At IGI Airport
Dense fog and toxic smog disrupted life in Delhi, affecting visibility and air travel. Several airlines issued travel advisories in the wake of adverse weather.
Dense fog and toxic smog continued to disrupt normal life in the national capital on Monday morning, severely affecting visibility and air travel across Delhi and surrounding areas. The adverse weather conditions prompted several airlines, including Indigo, Air India and SpiceJet, to issue advisories.
The IndiGo airline issued a travel advisory for passengers flying to and from Delhi and Hindon airports. In a post on X, the airline said fluctuating visibility due to fog had led to changes in flight schedules and warned passengers to expect slower operations until weather conditions improve.
“Delhi and Hindon (Airport) continue to remain wrapped in chilly winter air and lingering fog this morning. The fluctuating visibility has led to changes in flight schedules, and operations may be slower than usual as conditions evolve. Our teams on-ground are prioritising safety and compliance with visibility requirements,” it tweeted.

IndiGo advised travellers to regularly check their flight status and make use of rebooking or refund options if their journeys were affected, noting that airport authorities and airline ground staff were deployed to assist passengers at terminals, as foggy conditions continued to disrupt departures and arrivals. Officials said flight operations would gradually return to normal once visibility improves.
“Our airport teams are also available to assist should you need support while at the terminal. Once the weather settles, operations will gradually stabilise, and flights will depart as planned. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to welcoming you onboard soon,” it further wrote on X.
Air travel in Delhi was particularly affected due to the low visibility. The Delhi airport authorities said flight operations were being conducted only under CAT III conditions, which allow aircraft to take off and land in extremely poor visibility. On Monday morning, runway visibility at the airport ranged between 100 and 150 metres.
Officials cautioned that flight delays and cancellations were likely. The airport said ground staff had been deployed across terminals to assist passengers and manage the situation, and travellers were advised to check flight updates directly with their airlines.
Air India also issued a warning on Sunday night, saying dense fog was expected across parts of northern India, including Delhi, which could impact flight operations. The airline said measures had been taken to minimise disruptions, but delays, diversions, or cancellations could still occur.
Late Sunday, SpiceJet airline also issued a weather advisory warning passengers that flight operations in Delhi could be affected due to poor visibility. “Due to bad weather (poor visibility) in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected,” the airline tweeted, advising travellers to stay updated on any changes to their schedules.

The Indira Gandhi International Airport said flights were being operated under CAT III conditions, an advanced instrument landing system that allows specially trained pilots and equipped aircraft to land during extremely low visibility.
Delhiites woke up to another foggy morning on Monday as dense fog blanketed the city, reducing visibility and slowing traffic, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issued a ‘red alert' for fog, warning of hazardous conditions.
Visibility dropped sharply late Sunday night and remained poor through the early hours of Monday, making travel difficult and risky. At the same time, air quality in the capital slipped back into the ‘severe' category, raising health concerns for residents.
