370 abrogation hasn't stopped bloodshed
Those responsible for security should be held accountable, says Omar Abdullah

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has voiced concern over continued bloodshed in the Union Territory. He stated that the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 has not brought an end to violence. Abdullah emphasized that security officials should be held accountable for the ongoing loss of innocent lives. He expressed hope for an end to the violence.

J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 hasn't stopped bloodshed in the Union Territory and those responsible for security should be held accountable. He was hinting at the lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha-led administration.

"For the last 35 years, J&K, especially Kashmir, has witnessed massive bloodshed...We were told that this won't happen after 2019. But it hasn't stopped," Abdullah said.

"Why hasn't it stopped? This, you should ask those people who are in-charge of security as it is not in our hands," said Abdullah. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in south Kashmir, he lamented innocent people were losing their lives everyday.

"What can I say about the current situation? If the blast doesn't happen in Delhi, it happens here," said Abdullah referring to the Red Fort blast that killed 15 people and the accidental blast inside Nowgam police station that killed nine people.

"Innocent people are losing their lives. Yesterday, I went to five places for condolence and today I am going to two more places," said Abdullah. The CM said he hopes that this "blood shed should stop".
