In a shocking incident, a woman was shot dead in Uttarakhand's Rishikesh. The incident was reported to the police at around 9:30 pm on Saturday. The matter is under investigation and police are suspecting it to be a one-sided love affair case. However, further details will be disclosed only after the investigation is complete.
As per the reports, the 35-year-old victim used to work as an attendant at AIIMS and was divorced. She was living in rental accommodation in the Shivaji Nagar area.
Sharing the details on the murder, SP Rural, Jaya Baluni told ANI, “We received information around 9:30 pm that a woman has been shot at in Shivaji Nagar. When the police reached the scene, the woman was found seriously injured. She was sent to the hospital immediately, where she was declared dead. All angles are being investigated…"
As per the police, the bullet hit Preeti in the chest. Hearing the gunshot, people nearby rushed to the scene. However, by then the shooter had fled.
Local residents informed the police. Police arrived at the scene and rushed the bloodied Preeti to AIIMS, where doctors declared her dead.
