Tamil Nadu Accident: 12 Dead, 40 Injured After Head-On Collision Between Two Buses
Tamil Nadu Bus Accident: In a tragic head-on collision between two buses in Tamil Nadu's Sivaganga district, 12 people have lost their lives. Locals rushed to the scene, helping police pull out the injured as rescue operations continued.
Tamil Nadu Bus Accident: At least 12 people were killed, and over 40 were injured in a tragic road accident near Kummangudi, close to Kundrakkudi in Sivaganga district, Tamil Nadu. The deadly crash happened when two state government buses collided head-on on Sunday evening. Traffic was disrupted for nearly an hour before police restored movement.
The injured have been shifted to hospitals in Sivaganga and Karaikudi, where emergency teams are attending to multiple cases of head injuries and trauma. Several passengers remain in critical condition.
As per IANS, the impact was so severe that several passengers died on the spot, while many others were trapped inside the mangled buses. According to initial information, both buses were travelling in opposite directions when they collided on a narrow stretch of road.

Locals rushed to the scene, helping police pull out the injured as rescue operations continued late into the evening.
The IANS report further stated that eyewitnesses described the chaotic scenes immediately after the collision, with passengers crying for help, shattered glass scattered across the road, and locals breaking the bus doors to rescue those trapped inside.
Police have launched a formal investigation, and more updates are awaited on the unfortunate road accident.
In a separate incident, at least six people, including a child, were killed and more than 50 people were hospitalised after two passenger buses collided in Tamil Nadu's Tenkasi district on November 24.
As per ANI, at least 55 people were travelling in the two buses when the accident occurred.
The injured were admitted to the hospital with severe injuries, including fractures to their arms, legs, and head.
A person was killed after an ethanol tanker collided with a lorry carrying iron coils in the Hanwada Mandal of Mahbubnagar district, Telangana.
